Myself and I

"The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred." -Soichiro Honda
For probably over 5 years now, the 42 Ideals of Ma'at has been hanging on my fridge. I've read them a number of times, I've nodded and taken a few of them into consideration, but I've haven't thought about which I really value. Since I am on a journey, I want to do that today. Hatha Yoga & Rachel Brathen

"The best way to predict the future is to create it." -Abraham Lincoln
Over the weekend, I joined a gym for the first time! I'm super excited and, even though I've already highlighted every class I want to take, I can't stop looking at this month's schedule! Who knew there were so many kinds of Zumba? One class that I can barely wait for is my first yoga class. It's called Hatha Yoga. I knew already that there were many types of yoga, but I had no idea what this was, so I looked it up. According to this article by Ann Pizer on About.com, "These days, hatha is most often used to describe gentle, basic classes with no flow between poses. A hatha class will likely be a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises and perhaps seated meditation." I will admit, I'm a little turned off by how slow I'm expecting it to be, but I am highly highly inflexible (I can't even touch my toes! How sad is that?) and I want to get comfortable with yoga before stepping up to Vinyasa.
