I graduated!!!

"Even though you're growing up, you should never stop having fun." -Nina Dobrev
Hello, I'm Madison! Nice to meet you.

It's been sooo long. I know.
This past week had been absolute madness. I graduated high school (finally), WOO! These last 4 years have been the hardest, but most insightful years of my life so far. I've discovered a lot about myself as well as others. I've got a long way to go, my friends, but I know that no matter what hardships there are, it will be worth it in the end. Experience and perspective. That's what it's about.

I've already talked about how excited I am to start college. It's all moving pretty fast, actually. I'm already getting a list ready for the doom room. Luckily, I've already found myself a roommate and she's amazing. All of my friends are talking about fast it all went. At first, I didn't agree, but looking at my friends who are younger than me, it really has! Last year, my friend was a freshman, and in two months, she's already going to be a junior!! That's insane for me to think about. I can't even call my freshman friend "Freshie" anymore. Ugh, I couldn't imagine being a parent watching kids grow up. I feel more emotional thinking about them than I do thinking about the fact that I'm not in high school anymore! It's pretty funny.

As for the gym, Zumba has officially become my life. I love it! I get so excited to go and I feel amazing when I leave. I don't even feel like I'm working out, but I know I am from how much I sweat, haha. Also, I love of mine is BodyFlow! I took it before, but it was such a tough workout, I didn't know if I wanted to go back for a while, but I did yesterday and I love it! It's relaxing without being too slow. The toughness of pilates mixed with the peacefulness and fluidity of tai chi and yoga. I couldn't ask for a more perfect class.

So, right now, that's all I'm doing. I'm actually pretty bored, haha. Eat, Sleep, Gym, Netflix. That'll be my cycle for the next couple of months. And also blogging. I've finally got the time again. Oh, and before I forgot: I almost got hypnotized!!! I got called up, but it didn't work on me and a lot of other people. I'm pretty bummed out about it, but I'm determined for it to work on me one day! I'm not giving up! Mwahahaha!

There wasn't much of anything to be learned from this post, except what I've been up to, but here's a couple of things my BodyFlow instructor told our class yesterday.

1.) Don't even let anyone take your peace.
2.) "No" is a full sentence.
Thanks, Krys.

The Pierces

It's funny how it all works out in the end
Though it was the same from start to fin
But it's never too late to begin
Instead of a quote, I posted a quick lyric from The Pierces' song "I Put Your Records On". Who are The Pierces? One of my  favorite bands! Sisters Allison and Catherine Pierce form the psychedelic singing group The Pierces. I first found them on Pretty Little Liars (their song "Secret" is the theme song to the show). I looked them up and fell in love with their music. And they're so underrated! So many people watch Pretty Little Liars, yet their fan-base isn't as big as I thought it would/should be. They're amazing!!! Please check them out. They have a new album coming out this fall. It's a long time, but judging from their single "Kings", it will be worth the wait.

Really, I've only worked out a few days since joining a gym, but I feel better already. I'm planning on making a much more in-depth post about my experiences, but I wanted to give a quick update on everything.

We Are Dying!!!

Hey, everyone! I just got home from a rave, but I wasn't going to leave today's message hanging. Here's a quote and I bid you all a very goodnight!
-mad

"Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows." -Pope Paul VI

Up, Up, and Away!

"The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall." -Che Guevara
If you don't already know, this fall I'll be starting my freshman year of college as a film major. I first got into film around the end of sophomore year. It started out when I would imagine music videos while I listened to music in the car. I wondered how a person would possibly get into making music videos and my mother told me to look up treatment. I looked it up and it looked cool to me! "I love music, I love photography, I could totally do this," I told myself. I don't know when or how exactly it happened, but eventually I got interested in films as well and I decided that I wanted to be a film director. No matter what career interests I had, I've always been a big dreamer. When I was into marketing? I was going to be the Creative Director of Free People and there was no doubt in my mind. Now, there's no telling me that I won't be giving an acceptance speech at the Academy Awards.

Myself and I

"The value of life can be measured by how many times your soul has been deeply stirred." -Soichiro Honda
For probably over 5 years now, the 42 Ideals of Ma'at has been hanging on my fridge. I've read them a number of times, I've nodded and taken a few of them into consideration, but I've haven't thought about which I really value. Since I am on a journey, I want to do that today. Going through some of the ideals, I thought about which ones I valued most and I made three groups: What I Have, What I Want, and Most Valuable. I chose 5 ideals, organized them into my categories, and I'm challenging myself to really thing about why I value these ideals so much. This is what I came up with...
